Espacio Flamenco is thrilled to present Ezequiel Benítez, one of the most unique and profound voices in contemporary flamenco, on Saturday, April 11 at Artichoke Music.

Rooted in the deep traditions of Jerez yet unmistakably his own, Benítez brings a rare emotional intensity and authenticity to the stage. His singing reflects both reverence for flamenco’s lineage and a fearless, personal expression that has captivated audiences in Spain and beyond.

He will be joined by Bay Area flamenco guitarist Jesse Torre, whose sensitive and dynamic accompaniment creates the perfect setting for an unforgettable evening of cante and toque.

Ezequiel Benítez, born in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, is both orthodox and innovative in his approach to flamenco. His singing is characterized by a strong artistic personality that naturally blends the purest tradition with a contemporary perspective, always keeping the essence of flamenco intact. Recognized for his authenticity and commitment to flamenco singing, Ezequiel Benítez has established himself as an essential figure in the contemporary flamenco scene, standing out for his ability to move and communicate from a place of truth and deep connection to the roots of flamenco.

Jesse Torre is a versatile flamenco guitarist whose musical journey spans a rich tapestry of sounds and styles. A graduate of the prestigious Eastman School of Music, Jesse furthered his studies under the guidance of renowned classical guitarist Professor Nicholas Goluses, earning his degree with Distinction and a Performer’s Certificate for outstanding performance. Some of his notable partnerships include performances alongside Emmy Award-winning choreographer Yaelisa, Grammy-winning flamenco guitarist Antonio Rey, and Grammy-winning violinist Mads Tolling.
