About the Class
A drop-in friendly class focusing on intermediate/advanced-level flamenco technique, including braceo, footwork, turns, marcajes, and palmas. Over the summer, we’ll develop pataítas por rumbas. The last 20 minutes of class will be dedicated to Farruca review. Dancers who have not learned the Farruca choreography are welcome to join for the 1st hour.
Intermediate/Advanced level dancers have previous experience learning tablao style choreographies (Alegrias, Solea por Bulerias, etc.), know all four sevillanas choreographies, and have developed an at home practice in order to keep up with learning more complicated choreographies. Recommended: six or more years previous flamenco experience.
10 weeks: 6/30, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 7/28, 8/4, 8/11, 8/18, 8/25, 9/1
