About the Class
This beguiling flamenco palo originates from the mining areas of Almería, in southern Spain. It has become a very popular palo for dance in a slow 4 or 8 meter. In this class we will learn the essential elements to accompany the singing and dance of this dark and dramatic palo. In the F# position on the guitar, the chord voicings of this palo are distinctively beautiful. We will learn the marcaje, an intro, salida, footwork and letra accompaniment and a falseta. This class is the guitar counterpart to the Tarantos dance class (Mon & Wed). Students will have the opportunity to accompany the dance classes and to perform at the student showcase in the summer of 2027.

*No regular class 10/27, we'll meet from 6:00-7:00pm for a special master class with artists from La Velada.
