About the Class
Fandangos is a beautiful style of flamenco that hails from the province of Huelva. It is arguably the oldest of all of the Flamenco palos (song forms). This class is an introduction to Flamenco’s 12 count compas (rhythm). We will also continue working on our Fandangos de Huelva choreography to be presented at the Spring student showcase. Each class includes beginning technique exercises for braceo, floreo, footwork, vueltas, marcajes, and palmas. Last five minutes is dedicated to running the 1st Sevillana choreography.
Students are expected to make time to practice on their own in order to progress in their training (this can be as little as 5 minutes a week).
