Experience the magic of flamenco in an intimate space at Tablao Flamenco la Alcachofa! Each tablao show is unique as artists improvise and create in the moment, fostering an artistic conversation between musicians, singers, and dancers. Our November Tablao features guest dancers Isabella Viramontes and Monica Mota, with Brenna McDonald (dance), Randa BenAziz (voice), Yeshe Wingerd (guitar), and Nick Hutch (percussion).

Isabella Viramontes is a flamenco dancer from Albuquerque, New Mexico. She received 11 years of rigorous training at the National Institute of Flamenco, where she was a member of the pre-professional student company, Teeños. Her introduction to flamenco began at age seven under the guidance of renowned artist Eva Encinias, whose instruction inspired a lifelong dedication to the art form. She has studied under members of the American Flamenco Company, Yjastros. She is currently pursuing studies in International Affairs and Spanish at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. She remains committed to advancing her artistic practice and contributing to the vibrant flamenco community in Portland.
Monica Mota is the founder and artistic director of Quiero Flamenco. The 4 time Telly award winning company based in Spokane WA. She produces a company performance annually, featuring a rotating cast of national and international guest artists.Monica started dancing professionally as a ballet dancer with the New Mexico Ballet Company and as a modern dancer with the Bill Evans Dance Company. When she was nineteen, she attended her first Flamenco class and found her love. She has had the honor of performing throughout the States, and Spain.
